Monthly Income Report – March 2017

Hello everyone!

These Income Reports are becoming more and more important to me as it gives me a full day to reflect on how I am performing in different areas as I continue to grow and branch out online. I also get a chance to look at all the raw data. I also enjoy being able to share with all of you what is going on with business.

This month was pretty standard, most of my time was spent sick or getting reacclimated after getting back from my Thailand… bummer. However I was able to get a good amount of stuff done and have be doing some thrifting again!

Now let’s sum up the month:

Merch by Amazon – This has been pretty much on autopilot for me at this point. I create about 50-60 designs per month around certain holidays but other than that it has been mostly passive with old designs selling very well.

  1. Shopify Store –  Sales having been doing very well this month, I have been working on content marketing and have spent ZERO dollars on facebook ads and it has been producing an awesome amount of traffic for each post… I am trying to release one per week. I have also added 2 new products that have been researched over the past month that are doing really well so far!

  1. Store #2 is closed. I was really having a hard time doing both at once so i decided to close the store for the time being as it was taking too much time away from other aspects of my business.

My Current Numbers which I will update from month to month are as follows:

Shopify Store #1 STATS:

  • Facebook: 2149 +104
  • Instagram: 8758 +687
  • Email List: 491 +25

  1. eBay -Store is Open for business and I have been thrifting and listing again. Sales were decent the last month and I am looking to see growth month over month going into the summer. My sourcing strategy has changed dramatically as I am only sourcing from the outlets going into the future. This is going to help keep my costs down much lower than in the past for acquiring clothing and I will keep you posted with a dashboard screenshot and on youtube with sales!

  1. Pinterest – has been a huge factor of getting noticed this I have been spending more time working on pins and writing new content for the blog and it is really paying off. You can read my Tops Tips on how to get more Pinterest followers and how I grew my account to over 6000 followers in 6 months here

How to Start a Print on Demand T-Shirt Business on Shopify

Shopify Quick Setup Tutorial

Step 1:

Pick your store name and check for the to see if the url is available for a domain first!
You can check here you want the url to be closely related to you niche for example if you are doing a bike store it should be bikewerx.com for example.

Step 2:

Sign up for the Shopify Free Trial Here

You will not be charged until you upgrade to the Basic Plan and you can get the full store up and get the feel for it before you pay.

Step 3:

Customize theme to your suiting… The main parts here are creating a logo and graphic for the slide show.

You can stick with the Debut theme to start as it works very clean and is easy to setup.

Created all of your logos and artwork for free using http://www.canva.com

Optimal Thumbnail Logo Size is: 300×300 pixels

Optimal Splash Hero Size: 1200×800 pixels

Step 4:

Applications are one of the greatest things about Shopify as there is always new stuff hitting the marketplace and they are being developed by other sellers looking for tools that help their shopify stores.

The app store also has a great review system that links backs to the stores using the applications which is helpful to see what kind of stores they are running.

What applications I suggest & why:

Free Persistent Cart App

Beautiful Abandoned Cart Emails

These two function together for the most part, persistant cart keep the customers order as they left it in the cart after they leave your site, if they return it is there waiting for them ready to be checked out!

Abandoned Cart is very important to convert the customers who reached checkout and either got distracted or forgot about the order, many time this can bring that customer back for the sale and you can send multiple emails along with coupon codes to try to lure them in.

PRIVY

This is a free popup builder that will help you build your email list of customers. There are two reasons I use this app, it is FREE & it syncs with multiple list systems.

TEELAUNCH

This will be the what is used to fulfill the majority of the T-shirt and apparel orders they have great prices and no subscription fees. I have been using them for a few months now and they have been delivering great quality to my customers.

PRINTFUL

Printful offers some products that Teelaunch does not and also offers hat embroidery with mock ups which I feel is a game changer! I use these for one offs and where I need them as they are a bit more expensive however the quality and customer service is top notch!

Step 5:

ADDING PRODUCTS TO YOUR STORE

Step 6:
Setting Up Collections

Menu Optimization

Sales Channels

Settings including Shipping, Payment, & Returns

Step 7:

DRIVE TRAFFIC TO YOUR STORE

Instagram

Pinterest Ads

Facebook Ads

Facebook Groups

Google Shopping Ads

Bing Ads

Content Marketing

Monthly Income Report – January 2017

Hello everyone!

I also get a chance to look at all the raw data. I also enjoy being able to share with all of you what is going on with business.

Man did January ROCK there are lot of things that factored into this month doing so well and it is really great to see my income streams seeing this kind of growth. The following months will not be near this amount for awhile but that is OK as I am expecting some fluctuations the next few months due to the retail cycle.

Merch by Amazon has had so many changes going on however anything like that I will keep on the youtube channel for my small updates. It is going strong and I have added about 200 new designs this month.

My New Udemy Course for Instagram Marketing Check out the course here was a great success this month, thank you to everyone that took the course and left a review I am sure you all had some great takeaways from that and hope you are using them everyday as I am seeing great results as I will start to show in the next few months!

Now lets sum up the month:

  1. Merch by Amazon – Really amazing month! I realize they are really buckling down on the program as there are so many changes and restrictions happening. Hopefully they are just being more careful and trying to put changes into place to better serve customers and content creators…only time will tell!
  2. Shopify Store –  I have opened a second store! The first store is doing amazing and I reached my first milestone of doing over $1000 in sales with less than $50 in Facebook ad spend!

The second store is much broader and will be public when i get a few months in but I am super excited about it!

I have also integrated with Amazon and am starting to sell on all items with some of my merch designs on the back end of Shopify, if you are not yet subscribed to me on Youtube you will want to now as I will be doing a 20 part video series that will show you the whole process to get up and running.

Income Report December 2016 – Merch By Amazon, Shopify, Udemy, and More!

Monthly Income Report – December 2016

income report December 2016

Hello everyone!

These reports are becoming more and more important to me as it gives me a full day to reflect on how I am performing in different areas as I continue to grow and branch out online. I also get a chance to look at all the raw data. I also enjoy being able to share with all of you what is going on with business.

December was a very exciting month for me and I finally got a taste of fourth quarter in Online Retail and man was it Sweet!  I will some it up in the sections below on what actually happened but it was very interesting to say the least!

My Merch by Amazon and Shopify Store were on Autopilot this month which was so nice to see that I had all the systems in place to just let the traffic roll in and get holiday sales on the work I put in this summer.

My project for the month was getting my New Udemy Course for Instagram Marketing UP and Running which is now live and has been doing great so far! I will share these numbers starting January when the first check comes in (Udemy pays out 60 days after the sale is made, they have a very good refund system for the buyer)

Check out the course here

Now lets sum up the month:

  1. Merch by Amazon – Merch by Amazon was WILD this month, there were so many things happening throughout the month increased demand had impacted sales and overall revenue. Black Friday & Cyber Monday are where it is at! These two highly anticipated events really opened my eyes to the things that are possible with merch. Cyber monday we sold over 100 shirts in 24 hours setting a record! They has some serious problems keeping up in December as it really started to pick up. It seemed as if they were either running out of shirts to print on or simply could not keep up with demand but they slowly stopped most of the top selling shirts to help slow down the craze that they were having which affected about 30 of my designs… o well we still finished really well!

  1. Shopify Store – Had an amazing first real month with the shopify store finishing the month with 39 sales! I will show my dashboard from month to month so you can follow my progress and I will be showing more each month as I really start to perfect the process and get a solid customer base built. I can tell you the things that I am currently focusing the most on are the following:
    1. Building an email list
    2. Building an Instagram following
    3. Driving Traffic with facebook ads using the facebook pixel (this is the most difficult but I am getting better with it and when it works it feels really good to see the sales come in!)

My Current Number which I will update from month to month are as follows:

Facebook: 264
Instagram: 5107
Email List: 103

  1. eBay – Still on 10 day shipping and handling time not doing much right now however the income I bring in from this covers all of my office expenses and software which is awesome! I will be unloading 380 items when I  return from in March by running a huge sale to move as much of my inventory as possible so that should be fun to share as well!
  2. Instagram Course- Building my new course took up a majority of my month. After doing so much research on how to make it work for a business I acquired so much information on the topic that I decided to create another Udemy course to sell to other entrepreneurs and It really is kind of a test to see how the platform will work as an income source.
  3. Pinterest – has been a huge factor of getting noticed this I have been spending more time working on pins and writing new content for the blog and it is really paying off. You can read my Tops Tips on how to get more Pinterest followers and how I grew my account to over 6000 followers in 6 months here

Monthly Income Report – November 2016

Monthly Income Report – November 2016

Hello everyone!

Another great month on the books I did not see much growth this month however focused on maintenance of my t-shirts and growing other area of my business. It is great to see that Merch by Amazon was able to provide a steady stream of income for me even with putting very little effort into new designs.

Much of my time was spent on my Shopify Store, Instagram, & putting together my new Merch by Amazon Course on Udemy.

All and all I had a fantastic month and spent a lot of time traveling around the state and with family for thanksgiving which was a great time!

Now lets sum up the month:

  1. Merch by Amazon – Like always has been an awesome opportunity for me and I am so grateful to be able to create and place my designs on their site and throughout the world soon! This is the closest thing to passive income I have ever experienced and I can literally just let it sit now and make money or keep uploading and growing my potential inventory. There has been a major influx on sales starting black Friday and I am almost selling double the amount of shirts I usually do and my goal for the month of December is to upload an additional 200 designs. So it should be exciting to see if I can see more growth in the months to come!
  2. Shopify Store – Added new designs and started working with my first social influencer where I will be getting content from her in the form for of  high quality photos and access to her audience every month in exchange for sending her free SWAG. I will be reporting about this more in the future in videos. I have  decided to not link to the actual site becuase it will show inaccurate traffic in my reports.
  3. eBay store is still seeing frequent sales however this is currently just a side inventory that I am slowly selling off. It is great to know I can come back to this at any time if I need to however my focus has changed to digital products as I am seeing much better returns and more success at the current moment.
  4. Pinterest has been a huge factor of getting noticed this I have been spending more time working on pins and writing new content for the blog and it is really paying off. You can read my Tops Tips on how to get more Pinterest followers and how I grew my account to over 6000 followers in 6 months here
  5. Invested in the iPad Pro & Apple Pen this month! Very excited to start using these along with procreate and Adobe sketch. I will be doing live streams from time to time showing how I use them!

Merch By Amazon Sales October Income Report

Merch By Amazon Sales October Income Report

October was a great month for me on Merch by amazon! I wanted to quickly share a video that I have recently posted on the my YouTube channel where I outline the numbers quickly below.

There are lots of changes going on in the program right now and they are still going through growing pains as they are having problems with capacity and software bugs. They have however been very attentive and have also started banning multiple accounts. This is most likely a good thing however all we as users of the platform see are posts on forums so we don’t know what they are actually getting banned for which is a little bit worrisome as they are constantly changing their policy’s.

If you are looking to learn more about the Merch by amazon program check out my YouTube channel here!

I am also always working on adding more helpful content on this site so be sure to check the menu above and scroll though some of my other pages where I show some of the tools I use for Merch by Amazon on a daily basis along with my full monthly income reports which goes though my journey of selling and creating an online business that allows me to be location independent!

Thank you so much for reading and watching my journey with Merch by Amazon and we will see you next time!

Monthly Income Report – October 2016

Monthly Income Report – October 2016

Hello everyone!

I am super excited to share another amazing month with you!

I am still surprised to see my income continue growing and believe this will be my best month on the books this year. This is totally fine and it was a great learning experience  for me. There are many up’s and downs when running an online business and I truly believe you have to keep pushing and working on the areas that are important to you.

Now lets some up the month:

  1. Merch by Amazon – has continued to be an amazing source of passive income and is allowing me to focus on other income streams. I work on this a few days per week however I have been spending more time working on my side project.
  2. Shopify Store – Fully up and running, I will share this site name in the months to come however while this launches I really want to be able to see clear data from traffic that is coming to my site. I am however very excited about this and will share all of the strategies that I am using to build my Shopify store, fulfill the inventory, and build social media accounts.
  3. eBay has also continued to be a semi passive source over the last 2 months and is still bringing in sales from the listing that I had put up months ago I still have quite a few listings up (over 350!) and the next month or so is usually the busiest so it will be nice to see the extra sales.
  4. Pinterest has been a huge factor of getting noticed this I have been spending more time working on pins and writing new content for the blog and it is really paying off. You can read my Tops Tips on how to get more Pinterest followers and how I grew my account to over 6000 followers in 6 months here
  5. New Website Design – I am very proud of the new design and want to hear your feedback! I spent quite a deal of my time this month making my website more user friendly and optimizing it for mobile users. I feel it is easier on the eyes and  ore organized.

What is the end goal of more Pinterest Followers?

The more followers you have on Pinterest, the more engagement your pins will see. Engagement on Pinterest is known as a pin, repin, like, follow, or click.

More engagement will help drive more traffic to your site or product as well as conversions to sales!

Here are my Top 10 Tips:

#1 Use Tail Wind to Schedule Pins

If you look at my Income Reports Section you can see amazing the growth on my pinterest account has been. On average I am getting 1,000 new followers every month and some months more!

Tailwind has been the primary reason for this, it is freaking awesome and lets you plan pins for a full month in advantage and makes it easy for you to automate you pinning schedule. I am able to setup the whole months of my pins to whatever boards that I want in 1 hour. This honestly makes the rest of Pinterest pretty much effortless and just logging in the app to engage every once in awhile.

You can get a Free Trial  and after 100 pins it is only $15.00 per month, if you are really trying to free up time in your business and keep the traffic coming this is the equivalent of spending  50 cents per day to hire someone to manage your social media… WORTH IT.

#2  Comment on Pin’s

Take the time to leave interesting comments on popular pins in your niche. By doing this you increase your visibility to everyone who is seeing the pins. When others see the pin they see your comment and many times click your profile to snoop, when they see you are posting good content they also tend to give you a follow!

# 3 Mention popular users in your niche with your best content

This works much  like shout outs on twitter by forcing the use to at least give you a look when you post a good piece of content. A quick @Patflynn in your pin for example would be someone with a huge number of followers and if your lucky they share your content with their followers which can range from 50k to 100’s of thousands.

#4 Create a Best of Promotional Board

Create a Best of Board.

This board should include all of the best blog posts and pins that you have created yourself and that you want your audience to be able to easily find. Only pin each piece once and keep it neatly curated. You want this to be an easy to look at snapshot of your content in the hopes that there is something there that a majority of people who are in your niche would want to look at.

#5  Place your personal board’s at the top

See how I place the Best of the Treasure Gnome Board First, this is because I want people to notice that first when they view my profile to see your content!

This is one of the best ways to make sure your content is getting seen by the user that are really checking you out, they found you now lets get them to pin even more of our stuff!

#6  Get into Group Boards

Group boards give you a huge advantage in getting more followers on Pinterest.

If you are seriously asking yourself how to get more followers on Pinterest group boards will help you get in front of a much larger audience much faster for free. Some of these group boards have thousands of followers are not even following you yet so you are getting all of that exposure for free!

#7  Follow & Like Others

Follow & like content other content users that are in your niche post. Whenever you do this they are alerted on their account that there has been activity and it prompts them to look at what is happening, many times they will return the favor with a follow.

#8  Share is Caring

Sharing content is what social media is all about and usually on Pinterest user will return the favor on viewing your content if you took the time to share and view theirs. When you share a pin there are many other cool things that also happen.

When you share a pin, Pinterest shows you other pins and users that are related to the pin that you may want to follow or interact with. This makes it easy to continue sharing and finding good content after you find one pin you can go on a small sharing spree of relevant content. Pro tip, always click through to the content and make sure that you are not sharing a bad link with your followers, that gets very annoying and they will most likely stop following you.

#9 Use keywords in you descriptions

Always optimize your descriptions with a full sentence full of any keywords you are trying to target. Pinterest using there own search engine that uses a keyword based system by scanning the description and board titles. Doing this better will help you show up in the search results and recommenced pins sections.

Merch by Amazon : Outsourcing Your Shirt Designs

If you are already part of Merch by Amazon or have the question where do I start or you have just been upgraded a tier up and you are looking to grow your portfolio of shirt designs quickly there are a couple of things you can do. If you have read The 4 Hour Work Week By Tim Ferriss you already know there are some things that will make you growth much easier and if you are trying to grow fast or are an inexperienced designer this can definitely be one of the options to go.

There are a few options I would recommend here when trying to outsource your designs for Merch by Amazon I have used them all and they all will give you different results and it is definitely a learning process when it comes to finding a designer that fits your bill.

Here are my personal recommendations for outsourcing you designs:

Fivver.com

I like this site because it is great for introducing you to new designers and the interface is super simple to use. The designers are from all around the world and they are ranked by a rating system that allows you to choose a service based off of feedback and some designers work at a flat rate of $5.00 which is really hard to beat for a quality design. Fivver also has a very nice protection system and holds the money until the services rendered are complete by both parties and when you are satisfied with the order your funds will be released to the buyer. Simple as that.

I am currently offer a gig for simple typography designs for just $5.00 to help out people getting started, you can check it out here: https://www.fiverr.com/mjpeters87/deliver-original-merch-by-amazon-designs?arrived_from_manage_gigs=true&display_share=true

Upwork.com

This site is similar to Fivver however it is definitely geared more towards creating long term business with freelancers from all over the world and you can really negotiate hourly rates for designs. Beware of some of the inexperienced sellers here and always make sure you same there work first before doing a long term or bulk deal. This site is not as user friendly and you have to post what you are looking for like an actual job description and be clear of you expectations, after doing this freelancers can then apply for the job and you negotiate price. It definitely is not as quick as Fivver but I can see the value if you find the right freelancer to work with and are willing to invest a few days testing different sellers.
