Road Trip Thrifting Day #2 & 3 – May 2016

Hello Everyone!

So I had a great trip visiting my friend Joe in Virginia and not only did I get to spend some time with a friend but I was also able to finds literally hundreds of profitable items on the way. This was a awesome adventure and learning experience for me, it showed me that there is plenty of options for me to travel and find items to sell online and also that i can only fit so many items in my car before I am unable to drive safely. I came to a realization on day 2 where I could have done more and even stopped at literally 15 more thrift stores on the return trip however it would have made my trip extremely hard to see as the space in my vehicle was jam packed. Overall it was a great trip and I now have tons of items to list that should last me though the rest of the month and some of next month before I even need to source again. This may be something I can do to source long term is go for 3-4 day trips where I just visit other areas and scavenge and also get to see cool stuff. Next time I will hopefully have my inventory built up enough that I can enjoy more personal time and explore these areas more.

My totals for the day:

Total items Purchased=154

Cost Per Item=$7.31

Totals for the trip:

Total items Purchased=189

Cost Per Item=$6.51

Road Trip Thrifting Day #1 – May 2016

Hello everyone!

I am going to start sharing some of the trips I go on, along with some of the neat things I see and find along the way. I went on the road for a few days this week where I started in NY and made my way down to Fairfax, Virginia where I am today and I am stopping at thrift stores along the way. I had a very interesting day yesterday and I also realized I need to do better with my photography along the way to get more images that capture what I am seeing in the really cool moments. I started in NYC around 8AM and headed made some stops along the way in Bethlehem, Allentown, Fogelsville, and Reading Pennsylvania. I had 2 really good stores where I founds some really high quality Italian items and then I stumbled across a Goodwill Outlet. This was my first time experiencing one of the Goodwill Outlets and it was pretty intense and exciting at some moments. They had a few rules and they moved new bins full of clothing out every hour and a half and it was a mad rush for the bins when they said go so it was both stressful and exciting however I found some decent items to flip for some good profits there. The best part about the outlet is even though you really, really have to search for items you only pay 1.49 per pound so most of the items cost me less than a dollar a piece. I will be sure to look for these in the future and I also know that there is a new outlet opening in Rochester, NY this month. I ended out the day meeting up with my friends Jackie and Joe and they treated me to this really cool place called Top Golf where joe works part time. It is a pretty awesome idea where the balls are microchip and they have different style of games where you rent by the hour like a bowling alley, it was super fun!

My totals for the day:

Total items Purchased=35

Cost Per Item=$3.00

Overall it was a great day and all of the items found to day should turn me at least $10.00 in profit a piece and a few were really nice big dollar items. I will be thrifting in the greater D.C. area today trying to find some nice sport coats and suits. I have no idea what the thrift stores are like here but it will be exciting to explore either way!
